ELRI operates within a network of national and international research collaborations that strengthen environmental governance research and policy engagement.
One of our key collaborations is with GenCGov, a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship project hosted at the University of Bradford. This partnership supports comparative climate governance research across Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, focusing on justice, institutional legitimacy, and resilience in climate systems
Gender Inclusive Climate Change Governance (GenCGov) is a research initiative funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Future Leaders Fellowship (FLF). Our mission is to promote gender-responsive climate governance by bridging the gap between policy, research, and action. We work across Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa, focusing on advocacy, capacity building, and legal reforms to ensure that climate policies reflect the needs and voices of women and marginalized communities.
